Position Overview

The Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) is responsible for full operational, clinical, and regulatory oversight of the pharmacy’s non-sterile compounding services, ensuring compliance with Virginia Board of Pharmacy and USP <795> standards.

Core Responsibilities

• – Serve as designated Pharmacist in Charge for the facility.
• – Maintain compliance with VA Board of Pharmacy and USP <795>.
• – Oversee formulation quality, verification, and documentation including MFRs, CRs, COAs, and BUD assignments.
• – Lead inspections, audits, and regulatory communications.
• – Supervise and train pharmacy technicians and compounders.
• – Manage inventory, SOPs, quality assurance, and workflow.
• – Counsel patients and providers as needed.

Required Qualifications

• – Active, unrestricted Virginia Pharmacist License.
• – Eligible to serve as PIC in Virginia.
• – Strong pharmaceutical calculations, compliance, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• – Compounding experience preferred (non-sterile highly valued).
• – Previous PIC or management experience.
• – Familiarity with PCCA, Medisca, or LP3 formulation tools.
• – Audit and inspection experience.
